هناك 300000 شخص يعملون في مؤسسات الاتحاد الأوربي و لذا فمن المؤكد أنك لن تجد صعوبة في الحديث مع شخص ما عن قصتك؟ و لكن فكر مرة أخرى- ربما يكون 99 في المائة من هؤلاء الأشخاص غير مفترض فيهم أن يتحدثوا على نحو عملي للإعلام. أما الآخرون فقد يكونوا منشغلون، أو في "مهمة" خارجية – رحلة عمل مثلا- أو أنهم غير مستعدين للتعليق على موضوع قصتك

قد يقول البعض بأن الفارق بين الصحفي المتوسط و الصحفي الكبير هو مدى تشعب اتصالاته. ولو كان ذلك صحيحاً بالنسبة لصحفي الاتحاد الأوربي إلا أن أي شخص جديد على الساحة-أو من يحاول أن يؤلف قصة عن الأنحاء المترامية لهذا الاتحاد الذي يزداد اتساعاً قد يجد انه من النافع جداً الوصول المختصر لاتصالات الاتحاد الأوربي.
